FYI for folks who might be unaware. Ukraine is massive. It’s the second largest country in Europe, only second to Russia.
It’s also VERY rich in stuff people want to sell nowadays, like coal, iron, petroleum, natural gas, coke, titanium, and mercury. You know, stuff an oligarch very focused on selling oil and natural gas would want, and would be pissed that their country no longer had free reign over.
There’s also a peninsula that Russia tried to illegally “annex” a few years ago called Crimea.
